Greenhouse LED Grow Lights is a modern solution for those who wish to grow their own vegetables or herbs in the confines of their own greenhouses. In order to regulate the power draw of LED grow lights, the most common standard is to mount the units on the roof. Maintaining sufficient attic height is problematic for several reasons: first, the attic must be sufficiently insulated and sealed against moisture to protect the sensitive electronics from moisture based vapor radiated from the greenhouse walls; second, sufficient attic space must be available for access to the wiring and control panels. Thirdly, an open connection to the electricity grid can lead to costly and unsafe electrocution; especially when using high wattage bulbs in an enclosed structure such as a greenhouse. The combination of the high power draw of the bulbs, coupled with the attic insulation requirements make it impractical for the average home gardener to mount a system of LEDs.

Fortunately, there is a relatively inexpensive solution to the problem of power draw and heat. The solution comes in the form of 'night lights' or 'side lights'. Night lights are extremely compact, lightweight devices that fit neatly beneath a greenhouse or on the side of a building. These units draw very little energy, and their luminous qualities keep plants illuminated well into the night.

Most night lights have one of three options for providing light: single color (white, red, or green), four-color spread (red, blue, yellow, and orange), or two-color spread (red and green). One of the most desirable characteristics of these units is their extended display over the entire plant cycle. Night lights typically have a higher power draw than the average grow lights, but they have longer display periods (lasting for several hours or even days) than other grow lights. This makes them ideal for showing off flowering plants during the day and for viewing plant growth throughout the year.

Side lights, also known as "flowering lamps", operate under the same basic principles as night lights. They draw less energy than typical grow lights but produce light intensity during the whole plant cycle. These devices are typically more expensive than standard fluorescent bulbs, but they allow you to view plant growth up to nearly the full bloom stage. They also work better with fast-flowering plants.
